About

As a young child, my favorite afternoons were spent in a mall dressing room as my mother tirelessly brought in one outfit after another for me to try on. There was nothing I enjoyed more than the feel of luxury fabrics on my skin and finely crafted shoes cradling my tiny toes. My passion for fashion remained strong throughout my adolescence and early adulthood, and although my style is constantly evolving I adhere to the same basic principles when purchasing – long-term value and classically designed pieces.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Southern Connecticut State University. After finishing my student-teaching, I decided to shift gears and was lured to the bright lights of New York City in search of what every woman ultimately wants: to fall in love and have access to some of the very best sample sales in the world! New York boasts some of the world’s best shopping opportunities, including “the B trifecta”– Barneys, Bergdorf’s, and Bloomingdale’s.

My first apartment was located in Manhattan’s post-collegiate mecca, otherwise known as Murray Hill. It was there that I would meet Mr. Right, get married, and settle into our first home together.  I worked as an Executive assistant on Wall Street and used my lunch breaks to explore the nearby European-inspired (and often-overlooked) boutiques or scamper to a sample sale to quickly ransack the displays in search of one-of-a-kind designer pieces before hustling back to my office. As a bargain shopper extraordinaire, I have always excelled at scouting the most deeply discounted designer duds. Nothing provides me with an adrenaline rush quite like adding to my carefully-curated collection of shoes and handbags at a mere fraction of their retail prices.

After 2 years of wedded bliss my husband and I moved uptown to a larger home with the hopes of starting a family.  It wasn’t long before I was pushing a pram down Park Avenue and joining the ranks of thousands of other stay-at-home moms in the pinnacle of posh, Manhattan’s Upper East Side. My son, Evan Rex and daughter, Chloe Meadow, are the focal points of my life and have taught me so much about patience, unconditional love, and the importance of arriving early to the Bonpoint sample sale.

Welcome to Lullabies and Louboutins, where I will be documenting my journey through motherhood and the pursuit of all things fabulous in the world’s very best city… because changing diapers is more fun when wearing beautiful shoes!
